ScanSource Europe Announces Extended Management Team and Completes Purchase of Algol Europe

ScanSource Europe, a leading value-added distributor of specialty technologies, including voice, data and video communications products, through a wholly owned subsidiary, has received German Regulatory approval and has completed its purchase of Algol Europe, a value-added distributor specializing in convergence and communications solutions. In addition, the company has expanded its management team with the promotion of Xavier Cartiaux and the addition of Patrick Zaman and Marianne Nickenig.

ScanSource, Inc. Expands Communications Footprint in Europe

ScanSource, Inc., a leading value-added distributor of specialty technologies, including voice, data and video communications products, entered into a definitive agreement on November 3, 2009, to purchase substantially all the assets of Algol Europe, a value-added distributor specializing in convergence and communications solutions.  Algol, headquartered in Cologne, Germany, will begin operating as ScanSource Communications GMBH, and will join ScanSource Communications UK as part of ScanSource Communications Europe.

ScanSource Communications Europe is continuing to enhance its service offering into the channel with the introduction of an improved and enhanced web site. This site can be seen at www.scansourcecommunications.eu.

Completely redesigned, and packed with more information than before, the site contains listings of training opportunities, individual vendor microsites, an FTP site for resellers to share information and a section completely dedicated to promotions.

ScanSource Communications Europe Joins Partner Tour

ScanSource Communications Europe will be part of the ScanSource Europe Partner Tour in 2009. Following the success of the first ScanSource Europe Partner Tour last year, the value added distributor's channel roadshow is back for new dates of education, demonstrations, entertainment and quality networking time.

The UK event will take place on 4th June at Villa Park, home of Aston Villa. The day starts at 1.30pm, with the vendor demonstration area open from 2pm until 6.30pm. Executives and Account managers from ScanSource Communications Europe will be present, along with vendor representatives from Avaya and Siemens.
