ScanSource Restructures Communications Business in Europe for Profitable Growth

ScanSource, Inc. today announced the restructuring of its Communications business unit in Europe to support a pan-European strategy for profitable growth. The restructuring includes new leadership and also provides cost savings from the elimination of positions and the centralization of support services.

In support of this new structure, ScanSource has named Rudy De Meirsman as Managing Director for ScanSource Europe Communications, a newly-created position.

ScanSource Communications Partners with Yealink in Europe

ScanSource Communications has announced the addition to its vendor line card of Yealink, a provider of IP phones. The agreement means that European resellers have a further option available from ScanSource when purchasing voice communications products according to their end customers' needs.

Yealink manufactures products that are characterised by high performance, easy deployment and affordable pricing. Its IP phones, which are available with or without video option, provide flexibility in that they are interoperable with the major IP-PBX systems available on the market.

ScanSource Communications Expands European Partnership with Avaya, Strengthens Offering in France

ScanSource Communications has announced the expansion of its distribution agreement with Avaya to France. As part of the agreement, the distributor will also offer to French resellers Radvision video solutions, which were recently incorporated in its portfolio in the UK and DACH region.

ScanSource Announces President for European Operations

ScanSource has named Glen "Buck" Baker as President of ScanSource Europe on an interim basis. Mr Baker will be responsible for strategic direction and leadership of the Company's European operations, including its POS & Barcoding and Communications business units. Mr Baker will be based in Brussels, Belgium.

ScanSource Communications Europe last month continued its drive to provide training to resellers with two courses. One course covered Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the other, IP Office Vertical Solutions Day, focussed on how to implement Avaya IP Office in a number of different markets.

ScanSource Communications Europe Extends Avaya Relationship, Expands Video Solution Portfolio with Addition of Radvision

ScanSource Communications Europe has announced the expansion of its relationship in Europe with Avaya by incorporating Radvision's product range into its portfolio. Radvision, an Avaya company, is a leading provider of video conferencing and telepresence technologies over IP and wireless networks.

This agreement means that ScanSource now offers video solutions to resellers in the UK, expanding on its video portfolio available in parts of continental Europe that includes LifeSize and Polycom products.

ScanSource Communications Europe, a value-added distributor of voice, video, and data solutions, is enhancing its unified communications (UC) solutions offering by entering new geographies and expanding its relationship with ShoreTel, a leading provider of premise and cloud-based business phone system and communication solutions with fully integrated UC.

With the expansion of the relationship with ShoreTel, ScanSource Communications now offers UC solutions in the Benelux region, while expanding its portfolio in the DACH region. ScanSource and ShoreTel also maintain a strong relationship in both the UK and the United States.

ScanSource Communications Europe Back on the Road with Avaya

ScanSource Communications Europe continued its regular IP Office roadshows in conjunction with Avaya with three events across the UK in July. 70 resellers attended the event at the Avaya offices in Guildford, while a further 40 resellers joined ScanSource in Huddersfield and another 35 in Bellshill, Scotland.

ScanSource Delivers First UK Avaya UC Module Technical Application Workshops

ScanSource Communications Europe in June and July held two technical applications workshops based around Avaya's new Unified Communications (UC) Module for IP Office. The hands-on workshops were the first to be delivered in the UK and gave attending resellers the opportunity to understand how the UC Module and Linux will position IP Office solutions for the future.
